Lodging and Meals
Coaches and most families are staying at Hotel de Boskar Peer and Hotel de Watermolen. Both hotels have fully furnished rooms and are equipped with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Full Camp athletes are at the Watermolen, a more racer-friendly facility.
Breakfast is provided at both hotels each morning.
Lunch is included during our training blocks at Snow Valley while we run a video review session. Families are welcome to join us for lunch at the ski area. Please confirm your family's attendance with Nicole and/or Martin prior to August 10, 2026. Lunch at SnowValley is billed at 15 euros per person for those NOT training.
Dinner is not included at Boskar. Families staying here can experience a bit of the town's culture, ure with multiple options available around town. Racers staying at Watermolen have a buffet dinner included and on-site at their hotel.
Travel
Flights are not included; recommended travel to Brussels, Belgium.
Please be alert and aware when traveling. Keep valuables close, eyes up, and stay off your phone when moving around the area. Peer seems to be a very safe town; Belgium is now under a travel advisory. See https://travel.state.gov/en/international-travel/travel-advisories/belgium.html for additional information.
Passport and Phone
A passport (valid for at least 30 days after your planned return) and a mobile phone that will work in Belgium. There is free Wi-Fi at Airports, Snowvalley, and both hotels. Be sure to have iMessage and WhatsApp turned on and downloaded prior to travel. This is an easy and effective way to contact me at 503.704.0002 or martintichy@me.com. Coaches Martin and Nicole will land in Munich on 8/26/26. Coaches Ashton and Levi will land in BRU on 8/27/26; all are already on the WhatsApp group. Bring one or more 220V adapters/converters for your electrical equipment. There is a difference between a plug adapter and a converter. Check your electronics.
Money / Cash
Please make sure to bring spending money in Euros. Peer is a small town, and most stores and shops do not accept credit cards. The local currency is the EURO, which is accepted everywhere. Bank machines and banks are readily available, and cash withdrawals are easily accessible with a PIN. Full camp athletes are included in breakfast, lunch, and dinner during their stay. Day Camp racers are included for lunch at Snowvalley; breakfast is usually provided by their hotel, and dinner is at their own expense.
Packing and Tuning
It is recommended to bring 2 pairs of SL skis if possible. The snow is very hard, and edges dull quickly. SL gear only.
The temperatures average in the 60’s -70’s outside. Check the weather forecast at: https://weather.com/en-GB/be/limburg/city/peer/tenday - there is limited AC at most hotels
The ski area is always 30°F—cold and humid. Pack to dress appropriately for both temperatures.
A tuning room is provided for our team on-site at Snowvalley. We will have tables, vices, extension cord(s), and a wax iron — you will need the rest for tuning and waxing.

Snow Valley Athlete Etiquette:
Please use indoor voices in the locker room areas and on the hill
Pick up all trash
Profanity is not allowed
ALL the other coaches are watching us and will have no issue with reporting us for violations
The “magic carpets” can break when the rules are not followed:
Load on green light
Keep distance from others on the lift - 2 ski lengths minimum
MUST remain standing at all times on lift carpet. (No sitting, kneeling, or lying down)
Tichy Camp at Snow Valley is only for slalom training. Full slalom and protective gear are encouraged every day. Tuning your skis is essential for success at Snow Valley before and after each session. Some athletes choose to bring 2 pairs of SL skis so they can rotate equipment.
Ski venues come in all shapes and sizes. Snowvalley just happens to be built in the Belgian countryside to offer learn-to-ski during the winter and race training in the off-season.
Snowvalley offers a viewing area for families to watch, work, and enjoy a cup of coffee. Only cash is accepted; the wifi is fast when racers are not using it, and the cappuccino bar is only partly staffed during the off-season.
Experience the culture and adventure of the Peer during this time of year with street markets, shops, restaurants, pubs, concerts, and car shows.
With only 4 lanes, the courses are set for movement and quick feet. Turn after turn is designed to build technique and skill.
